The Dallas Food Plan brings together community voices, local leaders, and food system partners to build an equitable, sustainable, and resilient food future. By addressing barriers to healthy food access, supporting local producers, and empowering communities, we aim to ensure that every Dallas County resident can thrive through a just and nourishing food system.
To date, the following organizations have submitted letters of support:
City of Dallas
North Texas Food Bank
Dallas County
City of Dallas
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas
DFW Hospital Council
UT Southwestern
DFW Restaurant Association
Albertsons
Restorative Farms
Faith Commons
South Dallas Employment Project
Nonprofit stakeholders (numerous)
There is substantial evidence from other cities that cements the need for a plan and the impact of having a comprehensive approach. A comprehensive Dallas-Dallas County Food Plan will bring together grassroots leaders, producers, institutional buyers, researchers, public agencies, and community members to co-create a collaborative roadmap toward a food system that serves everyone.
